Oeil de lynx
Lors d'un séjour en Californie en avril dernier, j'ai eu le bonheur, en raison d'une journée passablement maussade côté météo, de visiter une magnifique exposition au Los Angeles County Museum of Art dédiée à Ansel Adams. Célèbre photographe américain et environnementaliste bien connu, il a saisi sur pellicule entre les années 20 et 60 parmi les plus beaux paysages de l'Amérique du Nord pour en produire des clichés noir et blanc d'une beauté rare et d'une poésie quasi magnétique. Ses endroits de prédilection pour saisir toute la quintessence de la nature furent le nord de la Californie (notamment le Parc Yosemite), le mid-ouest américain ainsi que les Rocheuses tant aux USA qu'au Canada.
Cette exposition, donc, relatait plus d'une centaine de clichés originaux et m'a rappelé le vieux principe à l'effet que ce n'est pas l'appareil qui fait d'une personne un(e) bon(ne) photographe, mais la personne elle-même. Ansel Adams ne possédait aucunement le matériel sophistiqué d'aujourd'hui, mais il savait optimiser son oeil perçant et, combiné à une judicieuse utilisation de ce qui était disponible à l'époque, son talent ne pouvait qu'émerger...
Sous le charme total, il me fallait bien ramener avec moi quelques souvenirs de ce grand artiste, sous la forme de photos cartes postales dont j'en ai aujourd'hui fait un montage à l'intérieur de cadres. Mes murs viennent dès lors de s'embellir merveilleusement, ce qui me rappellera aussi qu'il y a tant de belles choses à voir dans ce bas monde. Assez fier de mon ouvrage, avec le recul...!
